8. Why do you need an MDT meeting co-ordinator?

Northern Cancer Network - The appointment of MDT meeting co-ordinators in every Trust in the Northern Cancer Network to support tumour groups.

Across the network there was found to be disparity in the provision of MDT meeting support. To resolve this the Network Lead Clinician consulted with each trust and agreed to support the appointment of MDT meeting co-ordinators through out. Each Trust now has 2-3 co-ordinators who share the work of supporting the MDT meetings. The Cancer Services Collaborative managers provided some of the early training for these co-ordinators.
