8. Why do you need an MDT meeting co-ordinator?

Mid Essex Hospital, Mid Anglia - The MDT co-ordinator deals with all booking requests made during the MDT meeting.

Requests for booking made during the UGI MDT meeting used to be passed to nurse specialists or radiologists for them to make the booking. These were not always done in a timely manner due to work commitments. The team agreed that the co-ordinator should take booking requests for radiology or out patients direct to the booking clerk in order to eliminate any delays. This information is then passed on to the nurse specialist.
