9. Should the MDT meeting be used to facilitate data collection and audit?

The MDT should have the same agreed minimum dataset as other MDTs of the cancer site within the network. Examples of these include:

Cancer waiting times dataset.
Clinical dataset e.g. BAUS, BASO or other tumour specific data agreed by network TSSG.
Record for each patient.
Specific audit data.

All MDT meetings are subject to audit and review:

Audit of decisions to ensure consistency.
Communicating audit results to the MDT can improve the service.
Network audit policies should be agreed by the TSSG and at least 2 network audit policies should be agreed annually.
