Each of the gynaecological cancers may have different routes of entry for example ovarian cancer may be found following investigation for non-specific abdominal and gastric symptoms. However the vast majority of patients will enter the system from GP practice. One stop clinics set up to investigate patients referred to the clinical team within the two week urgent referral guidelines. Diagnosis is based upon histology results which can be found from biopsy taken during investigations and clinical history and examination. Multidisciplinary team that discusses and decides patient pathways of care on an individual basis and interface between the cancer unit and centre. Treatment of Gynaecological cancers depends on many factors mainly tumor site and staging of the tumour. All patients with cancer will be followed up routinely. At present all patients who have had or have a Gynaecological malignancy will be followed up on a regular clinical review cycle for a period of five years.
